Ariel Wood is a Texas-based artist by way of California and Wisconsin. They received their MFA in Sculpture from the University of Texas at Austin, and BFA in printmaking and drawing from The University of Wisconsin at Madison. Ariel is a sculpture artist and Art Educator whose artistic practice explores the way plumbing and drainage can elicit notions of interconnectedness, liminality, and queerness. Ariel picks and parses out those aspects of the larger system that appear strange, silly, or sentimental. They have exhibited their work nationally and internationally in Wisconsin, Illinois, Texas, New York, and Florence, Italy.

Ariel will teach the ST.ART Intensive Sculpture & 3D Design Concentration in summer 2023.
